Very much worth it for that price. Loved every second of it.

You can turn off the little map marker that shows where you are on the in-world paper map and compass. It kicks so much ass when played this way that I think the marker should be opt-in at the start. Very fun and unique experience.

Not for me… Idk why I can orient myself fine in real world but in games is terrible… I guess there is some brain thingy or because it’s not like 3D and you don’t feel like you are there no idea…

Overall a solid game, although as other users have mentioned it’s entirely linear and more of an interactive story. I personally found the story to be a bit contrived, but I still really enjoyed my playthrough.

Pretty cool game if you’re looking for something chill and short. Definitely worth the price here.

A reminder, that developers are pieces of shit for abusing YouTube dmca strikes for non dmca reasons.

Pewdiepie is a piece of shit and may be way more so, but it absolutely is irrelevant for the case of abusing DMCA system. They can adjust their stance, they can say “we are fine with everyone but pdp streaming and letsplaying our game”, but it’s absolutely not OK to first allow that and afterwards issue DMCA

Would it not be possible for the IP holder to stipulate via contract or EULA “You are only allowed to broadcast our IP if you follow these guidelines”. Then if the streamer breaches that contract they no longer have rights to broadcast that IP. And if they don’t remove that content willingly, a DMCA takedown seems like the proper course of action.

I’m not anything resembling a lawyer, just playing devils advocate.

Gonna go against the grain and say it’s shit.

It’s a walking sim not a game. There’s no engaging mechanics to play around with or much to do.

I would agree it’s less of a “game” and more of an interactive story, but calling it shit for that reason is a bit harsh, it’s a great tale. Just not everyone’s thing.

Of course, it’s only my opinion much the same as everyone saying how brilliant they thought it was, is.

But having a diverse range of opinions isn’t a bad thing here and may help inform people’s purchases.

Disagree. They use the medium of video-games, but they lack the rules based play that makes a game a game.

If you went outside for a hike, you wouldn’t tell people you were playing a game.

So it’s a video game, full stop. Just say you only like mechanically focused games, a valid opinion, instead of this absurd gatekeeping where games you don’t like aren’t actually games.

Do you think the phone book was a story?

Putting words on paper doesn’t make a story, nor does putting pixels on a screen make a game.

There’s nothing wrong with these “interactive” stories, but they’re not games because they lack gameplay.

Just because the game is narratively focused doesn’t mean it lacks gameplay.

Totally, dude. A hike that requires light bouldering or traversal becomes a game of ideal foot placement and clambering. If you bring a camera on a hike you end up internally rating your own pictures or hunting for opportunities. You can gamify a lot of things.

Playing Firewatch by choosing the dialogue responses that paint Henry as a certain kind of person is a game. Role-playing, if you will.
