A fateful decision in 1960s China echoes across space and time to a group of scientists in the present, forcing them to face humanity’s greatest threat.
Aren’t those the shitheads who fucked up the ending of Game of Thrones?
Dumb & Dumber just strolling in to ruin another fucking great source material and cash out millions.
Can’t wait to see how fucking stupid they make the wall breaker project.
Depending on who you ask, they fucked up entire and all seasons starting from 8, 7, or 6…
Yeah, that’s more of what I was thinking. They should have just handed the show off to someone who cared when Dani crossed into Westeros, or they should have just given a fuck themselves.
I tried rewatching it at the beginning of the pandemic and the last few seasons are so bad they retroactively ruined the seasons before. Like all the mystery and world building just didn’t matter in the end.
.
Just the ending? /s
I admit that they completely hosed the end of Game of Thrones, but they managed to bang out many seasons of great works as adaptations.
The last GoT season was all new stuff, but everything before was interpretation and adaptation, condensing a ridiculously dense narrative into solid prestige television. They’ve proven the ability to adapt really well.
So given that the Three Body Problem is a completed series, one whose main complaint is that it’s too dense and intertwined with internal Chinese politics for western audiences to get the subtext… that plays right to these guys strength.
And on top of that, I’d imagine they have something to prove now. See Lindoff after the series finale of Lost (Prometheus, Star Trek: Into Darkness, World War Z, The Leftovers, Tomorrowland, Watchmen and Mrs Davis). Lots of big swings, some terrible misses and some solid home-runs. I’d be delighted to see Benioff and Weiss have a similar career.
I’ve heard the best thing they created in Game of Thrones that had no direct book influence was Arya and Tywin’s storyline.
