Yes but also consider the cap is going up by at least 4 million next year and we just terminated Zadina’s contract. We need the goals BAD and every other team (Vegas and Toronto specifically come to mind) just end up finding a way to circumvent the cap. Stevie should be moving mountains to bring him in.
I’d love to see Yzerman get it done, but in a way that makes sense. DeBrincat wants a long term – we can’t handcuff ourselves for 7 or 8 years with a contract that doesn’t make sense.
