Seems to be a lot of links to Joshua Kirkzee from Bologne. His stats aren’t the best in the world but he seems to be a pretty good striker in a relatively possession focused team that might suit our style of play, and he should be a lot cheaper than other options. I just don’t think he will magically score a million goals.
I’ll say it again though. A striker who scores goals isn’t going to fix our 6 other forwards and attacking midfielders not being able to put it in the net.
We don’t need to “fix” our other attackers. All players have dips. The group lacks a consistent finisher, that’s all. What a striker alternative might offer is someone to alleviate the problem of not scoring when we are creating a bounty of chances.
I guess that’s what I’m getting at. What are the odds of 6 attacking players having a goal drought at the same time, and what are the odds that overspending on a 7th won’t just have the same outcome?

Some players are more consistent at some things than others. The players we have now, while not necessarily bad finishers, are not consistent and it leads to runs like what we’re seeing now and the end of last season.
I think a lot of the frustration comes specifically from Jesus’ clearly flawed finishing. Jesus provides a lot of fantastic things that allow us to dominate and create chances, but it seems to me that sometimes we could use an alternative that would rely more on others to create chances, but would be more likely to score if the chances still came. I hope that makes sense, I don’t think I explained very well.
Funny news for today: in our match against Middlesborough u21s, the ref got injured and had to be subbed lol. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen, or at least I’ve forgotten if I have lol
Imo it’s crucial that we sign at least one player this month, even if it’s on loan.
Agyemang, Reid, and Harbert were cleared by the club to play against us for Watford on Sunday, by the way.
