Why does the order of the parties in the key change for each year?

Because the candidates get assigned a number at random before the election. The key is just sorting the candidates by their assigned number.

So why is the KMT so popular in Miaoli? Otherwise this would basically be a straight urban-rural split, with just a bit of ambiguity in the capital.

These parts people care more about “their guy” than about ideology or partisanal politics. Their guys happened to be with the KMT.

Well, that’s not an uncommon story around the world. Is there history around the KMT in Miaoli specifically?

Wow… TPP took a look of votes away from DPP. And only one election cycle away. That’s impressive if not suspicious.

What is suspicious? Was there evidence of fraud or is this just sowing doubt over an election you didn’t like?

Using a third party to siphon votes from a popular party to get the second party in power is common. It doesn’t take much stretch of the imagination to wonder if TPP is propped by CCP funds and influence.

But the 2nd party still lost by quite a bit.

This sounds like liberal opposition you simply don’t like.
