Looking for clarity. Is this showing net profits or gross profits?
Shit take. If every Starbucks employee got an $11,000 raise that would drive inflation even more.
Would love to see that theory tested.
If only Starbucks did it, then it probably wouldn’t affect it much. But of course the idea of these posts is that all the companies should treat their workers better. If everyone got $11k pay rises that would definitely drive inflation.
However, here’s a counterpoint. If all the working class got big pay rises, this drives up inflation but it’s countered by the big pay rises.
Meanwhile, the super-rich are seeing their wealth worth less and less due to inflation, leading to a lower level of inequality.
