PHOENIX — Another front has opened in the ongoing battle between the federal government and Phoenix-based Grand Canyon University, which already faces a fine of nearly $40 million.

The country’s largest Christian university announced Friday that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has initiated a risk-based audit.

Reading some other articles on this, it appears that the school was originally non profit status, had financial struggles, was purchased and went for profit. In 2018 it converted back to non profit, but most of its services are rendered by the company that formerly owned it, by contract. So it’s essentially a non-profit shell wrapped around a greedy corporate center. The school’s president is the CEO of the contracting company. Department of education rejected the status in 2018 due to the change being primarily motivated by increasing shareholder value through a captive client in perpetuity.

So yea. Fuck that president/CEO. You know why they are rejecting it. And they are right. You aren’t being targeted, your just a greedy asshole.

I hear red flag scam alarms as soon as I see “Christian institution”. It’s like a Joel Osteen megachurch in “education” form- shit, they even do telemarketing.
