I installed Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen (bought from GOG) via the Heroic Game Launcher to an SD card on my steam deck. Game runs fine except for there is a connection failure pop up anytime I try to access the rift to hire pawns and when 1st loading a save file.
I’ve reinstalled it. I’ve tried protons 7, 8, and GE. Rebooted the deck. Has anyone run into this issue before? Any help would be much appreciated!
I don’t know what’s happening, but Dragons Dogma is a Capcom game, isn’t it? They’ve been rolling out that stupid Enigma anti-mod protection on all their games, and it’s been breaking things all over.
Maybe that’s what happened here.

I sincerely hope you can! I’ve shelved Monster Hunter and DMC for the moment, until Capcom gets their shit together and salvages what remains of the community goodwill.
How long has it been messing up for? Googling the issue shows that Capcom has server issues pretty frequently, and it’s common for parts of the pawn system to be unavailable for a day or two.
