From the people who brought you the Walkie Talkie, presenting the new Scooty Shooty
Scooty Shooty
Since that name was already taken by the object in the photo above, they had to call this a Vespa 150 TAP.
The Vespa 150 TAP, aka, Zoomy Ka-boomy
Oh my God
I love it
TAP, because it’s going to tap that ass?
Mobile as fuck. Can take that bitch grocery shopping at Walmart
That seems incredibly impractical and one anti-tank rifle away from a really bad time.
Nah, it’s WW1, everybody had a great time!
This made me LOL for realz
This was before (serious) tanks
I think this would work better if the armour was mounted on a bulldozer chassis and fully enclosed.
A WW1 soldier out in the open? Must have been really early 1914 or late 1918. Judging by the helmet and uniform, probably the latter. Or it’s just propaganda material.
Probably a demonstration photo. Lot of experimentation going on at the time, after all.
It’s interesting that ultimately everything they tried, failed. The tank is about the only thing to come out of WW1, outside of aviation of course. Infantry is still just running around in regular clothes, shooting guns at each other. All of the experimental stuff couldn’t hold up to the realities and horrors of war. At least they gave up on trench warfare, although that might see a comeback if the major powers are ever fighting over 2’ of land at a time again.
I mean, helmets and body armor were eventually widely adopted, as were infiltration tactics and both light machine guns and submachineguns. They just had far more failures than they had successes.
Fun fact: those things can only move backwards.
