I recently tried it again for a month but was immediately disapointed by the fact that I had to level up just to regain talents I already had 10 years ago … wtf?
Also rare items from normal instances now seem to be “autogenerated” … like there is a 10 different look items but they will have exactly the same stats with maybe one switched around. Seems very lazy and boring. Didn’t renew after that.
If I ever have time and motivation to properly play an MMORPG again, I’ll go back to EvE Online.
I mean… It would be weird if a level one character already has all of the spells and talents. If that were the case people would complain that levelling is boring
As for the items, what would you expect differently? Crazy items with new stats? Items with special effects that you’re not gonna use because you’ll switch it for a higher item in a few levels anyway?
Did you play classic or retail?

I wasn’t talking about a new character. They basically squashed the level, taking away talents you already had and making you level up some more just to get back the same talents on that very character.

Doesn’t need to be crazy, but some unique items with some attention to detail yeah. That’s also how it used to be up until at least WotLK, even for low level items you would only use for a a few hours.
But now it’s all you need to know is the item level armor type and slot and you know that this item will have exactly x stamina, y int and z of <3rd stat>. No matter where it’s from.
The back slot is even more boring, they don’t even make them class specific anymore. They just slap all the stats on them and just let them go to waste on some classes.
They are not even pretending anymore to put in any effort or attention to detail.

The standard game.
Took a break for a few months and played a few other games, GTA SA DE, Persona 5 etc
Now I’m somewhat back, doing wqs when I can to get my rep up.
Yes, but this late in the season I also play other games. I’m doing a challenge run in Factorio (Seablock, equivalent of Minecraft’s skyblock). Also doing some multiplayer BG3 with friends. I’ll be back to no lifing wow next season
I still play retail, I actually really like dragonflight and especially this season. My guild is pretty casual and we just started progressing HC Fyrakk. I am very much looking forward to when we are killing him in a few weeks.
Mainly I play M+ with my guildies (currently around 2.7k rio) and I’m doing some solo content, like farming mounts (somewhere above 600 unique mounts)
I came back for Dragonflight and was really pleased with how the game had changed after I dropped it in Shadowlands. I played for 8 months, mostly healing PUG M+ up to +20 but put it on the backburner when the latest expansion to my other favourite MMO, Guild Wars 2, came out. Sadly, there’s only really enough time to play one MMO at a time, and GW2 has a long-term goal that I’m trying to reach right now that is a little more appealing than another season of M+. I’m looking forward to seeing what the Worldsoul Saga brings as well as catching up on the latest questlines when I do come back, though.
I was on https://turtle-wow.org/#/home was a few weeks, really nice experience, you can see that the project creators really love WoW. Then life got into the way, and also the dated gameplay made me forget about it.
Trying out Season of Discovery. Having a blast.
I stopped when bg3 released and haven’t been back but I’m gonna play the new expansion. I played with two friends but neither of them were into m+ so I mostly played solo and lost interest when they stopped logging in entirely
getting old
