    Songwhip is such a pain in the ass. It prevents being able to directly open links on a device to an app. Yeah, in theory it means you can pick what you want to listen on, but it’s still an extra step, which is annoying.

    Old man gripe over, I guess.

      I hear you man and I’ve been debating the same myself. The thought process behind the choice was exactly what you outlined; choice. My unfortunate situation is that I’m deeply embedded in what was called Google Music and is now the shittier YouTube Music. I don’t know how many others want to touch Google services if they can avoid it…

      That said, the three total steps to open “in app” are no joke…

        I totally get it. I go through either newpipe or revanced for YouTube stuff myself, on mobile devices. Hell, with spotify or most of the other streaming services, I use modded apps that strip tracking and ad junk from the apk (which isn’t necessarily ideal tbh). But not everyone is willing to jump through those hoops, so songwhip does give a person more choices in that regard, since folks can at least pick the least bothersome options.
