What is it with people and snow?

It’d be one thing if they continued driving like it was a sunny day, but some people decide a snow day is the day to start their career as a rally driver.

Guilty, I have a standard transmission AWD car and it is so much fun to drift corners in the snow!

I never do it in traffic or near other drivers, though. They don’t deserve to pay for the consequences of my stupidity.

That’s the job of the insurance company when they raise everyone’s rates…

Was driving to work at 4am one day on a really fuckin awful town side road on a really shitty day with fuck tons of snow. Came to the series of S curves in the road with a big stupid truck right on my ass. We met a state plow who should not have been in that road and looked to be pulled off to the side of the road quite a bit for us to go around. As we passed his plow it became very obvious that he was parked with his ass end almost completely blocking the road. I have no idea how i made it past him without smashing my car but the douchebag behind me was obv not skilled or lucky enough and was up my ass enough that he ended up in a ditch.

    Fuck that guy.

EDIT: WE > He. He ended up in the ditch, i did not. Wtf phone.

      Hooray!

That is sooo satisfying. I hate tailgaters. Just relax, dammit, we’ll get there.

Not as satisfying but still made me think wtf in the moment. Was driving in a bit of a blizzard, the snow was the kind that would grab you and pull you towards the ditch if you got out of the tracks. Had to remember to steer straight twice instead of just trying to turn back to the middle of the road to get traction back and stay on the road. Had my four ways going and there was this truck on my ass.

Eventually I decided fuck it and pulled over to let him by, figuring he probably wants to go faster but isn’t confident enough to pass while I’m still driving. He immediately puts on his own four ways and continues driving on at the speed I was. Why do you have to be right on my ass to do that? If you’re two seconds back, you’ll arrive at your destination two seconds later, but will have a much better chance of avoiding accidents in normal weather, let alone a blizzard.

Humanity doing it’s best to give me mixed feelings about a potential extinction in the mid future.

The guy who was on my ass lived on that road. He’d been following me for less than 5 minutes. I have no idea wtf he was thinking but it was a really bad storm and not the time to fuck around and find out.

they can face a $325 fine if they are caught overtaking snow plows working in echelon formation on multi-lane highways that have a posted speed limit of 80 km/hr or more

Yes, I overtook the snow plows. Yes, it was a multi lane highway. And yes, the posted speed limit was over 80 km/h. But the snow plows were clearly operating in a reverse double chevron formation, not echelon. I’ve done nothing wrong!

The roads were all clear behind the plows, so why were they even there in the first place! /s

Anyone have another link to the video? That sounds funny as hell and this one isn’t working for me.
