I love having a snack of raw walnuts. They are healthy, filling, and I like the taste.

You can even throw in some raisins if you want a sweeter taste.

Which kind of walnuts? I vastly prefer black walnuts, but I’m usually relegated to buying them in the “baked goods” section of the grocery in mashed-up topping-like fashion. It drives me absolutely bananas!

Growing up, I could pick them out of the yard. Now, unless I visit the folks, they seem so hard to find.

I actually don’t know. I just buy a bag of great value walnuts at Walmart. I haven’t thought about different varieties.

Mandarins are a classic and tend to be cheap. A pink lady apple.

You could also try mixed nuts or dried fruit or GORP.

Like lunchables, but hate the stupidly high prices? You can pack your own for a fraction of the cost.

Get some crackers/flatbread/mini pita/melba toast, whatever cracker or cracker like snack you prefer.

Get some cured meat like salami, pepperoni, polish sausage, summer sausage, bologna and slice it up thin. If you arnt confidant in your ability to slice sausage then you can probably find it pre cut for pizza and sandwiches.

Get some cheese, doesn’t have to be fancy shit though sliced American cheese is probably not going to work well. Cut it into pieces that will fit on you cracker.

Portion out an equal amount of all three, put it in a baggie or container, and pop it in your bag.

its home made lunchables if the kids ask, if adults are asking tell them its charcuterie.

The real question is what type of diet are you trying to have?, I would recommend a jar of peanuts and good old fashion water along with maybe some pretzels, and although it may not be the tastiest thing in the world, your body will thank you for it later

String cheese, piece of fruit, some nuts, beef jerky, all are convenient because they don’t need refrigeration or preparation to eat them.
