Technically speaking, if you interact with the Internet in any meaningful way, you do use Linux.

Yell “I AM AN ARCH ANGEL” everywhere you go.

I’m a poor filthy Mint peasant. I’m just not really that much into punishment.

I like Gnome. If I’m going to be using a computer all the time, I’ll invest the thirty minutes it takes to set up Plasma, and if I want to get weird, I’ll play around with a tiling WM. But for the lappy whose sole purpose is to put youtube on the television? Gnome is fast to set up, its theming is (mostly) consistent, and it asks very little of me.

I use arch (EndeavourOS btw) with gnome. KDE always gives me weird graphical glitches and problems that only get resolved with a reboot, got tired of it.

I mention I use a Linux gaming PCs on posts for games communities or a review of a game. I do it to let more and more gamers know that it is possible to game on a Linux PC. No Microsoft Windows required.

Is there an easy way to find out what games will run Linux these days?

I use steam and Proton with the ProtonDB website. There is not a game I wanted to play that wouldn’t. I know there are issues with easy anti cheat, or was. I don’t have any games that use that.

I am excited to play Baldur’s Gate 3 next month and updated my Linux PC with a new Nvidia 3080 card and CPU. I want ultra settings.

I use free BSD. Just so I can flex on the Linux losers.

(Kidding…. BSD is weird. I use whatever flavor of linux happened to be interesting. Debian, fedora, Suse. Arch. Not Ubuntu. LMDE. CentOS. Maybe scientific if I’m planning some stuff with OpenFOAM.)

I’ve been sort of liking Void, but I need to find something else, got a new SSD coming in the post.

I wish there was something with the classic rc.d init of Slackware but an install model more progressive than “install all the things off the disc image, then wait 3 years for a new release.”. A BSD might work, but I want to play Steam games and have a mainboard a modern Wi-Fi card.

I stopped using Arch because my hardware (CDJ music controllers) didn’t work properly immediately unlike windows.
