They did in version 7, but not in version 5, and even Windows 11 only bundles 5. All the bullshit aliases are still there.
rtxntoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•You can no longer browse open source code on GitHub without logging in firstEnglish91·13 hours agoI can reliably trigger rate limiting by rapidly switching between files. Sometimes it’s after looking at 10 files, sometimes up to 30. At any rate, it’s not something a regular user would do (and at that point, why not just clone the repo?), and the rate limiting clears in less than a minute. It’s really no worse than having to deal with Anubis-chan.
People just love to freak out, I guess.
Damn, you were right on queue with that correction. OP should of picked up a dictionary, huh?
rtxnto Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•What's an insider secret about somewhere you used to work?English11·14 hours agoCalm the fuck down. This wasn’t a “Russian lathe accident” situation. We were trained professionals, and never left the machines unattended in an unsafe state. There were no injuries and only that one close call (which IIRC was traced back to a faulty e-stop button).
We never fell victim to complacency and I am quite proud of that.
rtxnto Ask Lemmy•What are some good open world games/series that would be nice to take a walk thru from start to finish?13·20 hours agoEh.
Without the unique boss designs and gameplay mechanics, the world looks and feels like every other Souls, but with more pixels. Not bad, but not strong enough on its own.
You’ve just triggered my fight or flight reflex. Three years ago I spent about three months writing an entire .NET/WPF application with nothing but Powershell and XAML. Having access to .NET was nice… but the shell was trying to be too many things at once and the mix of method calls, programs, and cmdlets was infuriating.
I’ll never forgive them for aliasing

rtxnto Ask Lemmy•What are some good open world games/series that would be nice to take a walk thru from start to finish?11·21 hours agoRed Dead 2. Law killed my horse in Valentine, so I decided to walk and hitchhike back to Clemens Point. I wrestled a bear, found the plague village, blew up a KKK gathering… just regular old west things.
The early STALKER games are also nice, if you’re into that sort of atmosphere. Nothing beats the feeling of sitting in the rookie village next to the world’s most mediocre guitarist.

30 is not the end. It’s a profound moment of existential despair. A temporary paralysis. Followed by even more, even louder screaming.

I’m about to get pedantic.
Those scars were not the result of faulty wiring. Early belter space suits were built cheaply, often without proper insulation, especially around the mating area of the helmet. The suits would heat up in the sunlight, but without an atmosphere (and thus convection), wouldn’t be able to cool down, and would burn the unprotected skin. Heat management is also why contemporary EVA suits are white.
Right… folks in Boston forgot how to make long-lasting batteries.
Actually, don’t even worry about following their silhouettes. Just cut. Let the scissor wander.
