    Rat scene was perfect.

Wow, I’m impressed with just how good it all looks. I thought S1 looked fantastic but this is another level. Voice acting was great, sound design was perfect, just an insane start to a season. Makes me a little scared to see how they can keep it up for another 22 episodes.

Story wise im still surprised to see us stick completely with the flashback (is it really a flashback if it isn’t momentary?). I haven’t read the manga, and I avoided anything preview related to go in blind, looks like that didn’t really matter.

Here’s hoping this is the worst episode, cause then it’d be a 10/10 season. I can definitely see this being the AOTS, but not calling it just yet

Is it only me or is the animation very jittery and jarring this episode. The aesthetics looks really cinematic like chainsaw man but the fluidity looks irregular.

I personally enjoyed the fluid animation, Gojo crip walking will now live rent free in my head.

I thought it looked amazing. They are definitely trying to do more 3D stuff, so maybe that is what is weirding you out?

If this bugged you, DO NOT watch “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” lol

It’s just I picked up on it while watching. Like others have said it might be due to higher fps that I am used while playing games.

I am about to watch that anime but I’ll definitely keep in mind though. Thanks.

The animation and fluidity looked fine to me. I do agree that the aesthetics did give me chainsaw man vibes, but I’m not complaining.

I think I kinda noticed too, I suspect it could be because some of the CGI 3Dish background panning look jittery in 24FPS because I’m used to playing 3D video games in 60 or 120FPS lol

Was not noticable for a majority of the episode and did not bother me much in any case.

Right. Even I’m playing at 120 fps and this somehow catches my attention.

I haven’t watched JJK0 yet and I feel like that was a big whoops for watching this episode. I’m excited to see what causes the change in Gojo to go from the glasses to the eye band.

Based on the ED I think we might be in for a few of these prequel episodes.

Jjk0 does not give you any information that would be relevant for this part i think.

Yeah. It only takes place like only a few before season 1. Which is still quite far removed from the time in season 2.

Wouldn’t it be a classical chuunibyou-esque “my power has gotten too great” kind of situation? Like Code Geass when Lelouch’s Geass evolved?

I wouldn’t have my hopes up on any explanation of why Gojo is so OP.

I recommend watching JJK0 after the current arc. Events in the movie will make more sense and will be relevant later.

From what I gather, only the first half of the season is a prequel arc.

Holy cow, what an episode! The animation quality and the camera panning is all incredible. You can tell MAPPA is putting everything into this. I hope the quality keeps up all season, just like they did with Chainsaw Man.

Gojo has been a little shid forever, and well, that was expected!

The shot of Fushiguro there towards the end. I am very excited to see more of him!

Also, whew, everyone is so freaking hot. I am going to need to get a tall glass of water for this each week to handle the thirst.

I feel like the episode had good pacing, though maybe a tad slow in places. They maybe feel they need to ease us in even though we knew it was going to be a prequel, not a sequel as many had hoped. JJK Zero kind of prepared us for it, and I am thoroughly enjoying it even though I would probably be enjoying more of Yuji’s story line a little more.

All in all, 4/5, can’t wait for more!

This is a great first episode. The animation is fantastic and feels a little different from last season. Knowing Mappa, we should be fine for the whole season.

As a manga reader, I’m very excited for upcoming fights this arc and the next arc.

This is a bit late, but wow. The animation and art direction are far superior to S1.

    Like CSM S1 level good.

I haven’t looked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a lot of staff overlap.
