There are many classes and ancestries in Pathfinder Second Edition to be a part of. Which combo would you be if you could both choose for yourself?
For class I would pick to be either the Druid class or the Summoner class. The Druid one is due to its collection of shapeshifting feats and spells as well as its generalized nature based magic. I like shapeshifting as a concept, and usually this class in TTRPGs is based around that as well as having some nature magic to spare. You ever heard that “the power of nature is impossible to resist” before? Though annoyingly in game the shapeshifting feats take more than all the slots if you want maximum shapeshifting capabilities and variety. The Summoner one is because I could have a sunflower monster, which I imagine would be something like Blossomon from Digimon, or a magical beast such as a stegosaurus, a giant skunk, or a giant vulture on my side. It would be cool to have a friend in the form of one of my favorite flowers or animals. Then on top of this I still have some magical power myself… not a lot of spell slots but I have some still.
For ancestry, if the ancestry feats were based on their abilities and habits, the human ancestry would be me because there’s a feat they can learn that grants them an archetype for the other class I wanna be. That means I could have both advanced shapeshifting powers as well as the ability to summon a beast or plant monster friend. I would be of the beastkin heritage because then I could be like a humanoid skunk, vulture, whale, or stegosaurus too; it also means I have some deeper ability to have animal like abilities such as a larger body, refined scent and sight in darkness, and maybe the ability to fly or dig better.
If I ran on free ancestry rules the extra feats would likely go towards having a familiar and also an animal companion… which would make me kinda like a walking zoo. Maybe I can be that guy who’s a skunk man that turns into various animals, has a sunflower monster that’s his friend, and also has a vulture familiar and a skunk companion.
Beastkin because I’m a rabid furry and likely wizard because magic is cool
Like if I were yo be reborn in Golarion? Probably an ancestry that lives a stupid amount of time like an Elf or Samsaran (which will come with the Tian-Xia books), or one with wings becauseflying are cool so Strix or Wyvaran (which I think are confirmed to come out at some point for 2e).
For class, Wizard, Magus, or Druid would be my choices, probably Magus and Druid if I can go dua-class. And I’ll try to get into the Magaambyan so I can get more magic.
Probably a kobold bc I love dragons and that’s the closest you can get with official content, or possibly Kashrishi just bc they’re cool. Though I am not small irl, what’s the point of matching up, right?
For class, either Druid bc I really like elemental-style powers (would probably go for a gish-y build even though it’s suboptimal), or more likely wizard bc I’m drawn to Int based classes and magic. In fact, the teased civic wizard coming in the revamp is basically my dream class.
I think it’d be cool to be a Shisk with their urge to dig up information. And also have spikes.
I’d also be into being an android with glowing eyes and weird nanite blood. Give me a soul inside a humanoid shape that slowly becomes more strange over time.
Shisk wizard or android sorcerer would be ideal. I agree with Nyashes that magic is cool and that’s my best reason for that.
If I were isekaied to Golarion with choices, i’d pick Anadi Sorcerer, and make my way through life as a spell-trader. As in, I’d trade spells known with other casters via the Arcane Weaving ritual, teaching psychics how to cast Heal, and Oracles how to cast Magic Missile, that sort of thing.
If I can level steadily, I’d probably pick druid to get the stop-aging feat, presuming that it means indefinite life span.
If the druid feat does not work that way, then I’d probably pick elf for my race.
But if it does, then I’d be tempted to go human and get the dragon related lineage.
If I can pick third party, then I might just go straight to dragon instead. :)
Though part of me wants to do kitsune with dragon-scion heritage, just to be very Extra. 😃
Probably a gnome. Ties to the fae realm sounds exciting. They have a long lifespan as long as they keep doing new and exciting things which is what I love doing.
For class I’d probably want to be a wizard. I enjoy learning and studying and I want to do magic.
