This is exactly the kind of abortion-ban-supportive police action we’d been hoping we wouldn’t see.

It is imperative that women seeking healthcare in states other than their own remain vigilant in their travel planning and discreet around communicating about their condition.

Truly scary times. It was difficult to imagine this reality even a year ago.

It’s bizarre to suddenly live in a world where I am actually grateful to have had my ovaries and tubes removed because of ovarian masses. Jeeezus.

Right? I’ve had my kids and am now horrified to watch them (three of them girls) growing up in this new, terrifying world.

Aaaaaand, once again we see that the police “don’t get to choose which laws they enforce” except that that is exactly what they do. And with a monopoly on the legitimate use of force and virtual impunity.

That sheriff needs to stop reveling in his feelings and start complying with state law.

Yeah, rogue police officers taking it upon themselves to start acting like overseers tasked with capturing women seeking healthcare in other states is a huge problem. Women’s Healthcare destination states need to start cracking down on that kind of behavior very hard.

If you are out west and can manage the trip, come to Washington if you need healthcare being outlawed by your state. Our government has already been passing legislation to protect those who come here for abortion care. Reach out to the Auntie network if you need help.

I mean, California is supposed to be a supportive state as well. Our governor has been very clear about that, as have our legislators, and the popular vote added the right to abortion into our state constitution. This POS is endangering people despite all that. My point here being that the problem is what police officers are allowed to get away with, even in extremely liberal states like CA and WA. We need to put a stop to it.

You have a good point. Here in Washington, they could get away with it in more rural counties. But if you go to somewhere like Seattle or Tacoma, it’s not a concern.

I’ve been so proud of the state of Washington in all of this. Thank you.
