tl;dr:

  • body temperature measurement with the Thermometer app on the Pixel 8 Pro;
  • Circle to Search rolling out on Jan 31, apparently only on the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro;
  • Magic Compose: lets you rewrite your draft messages in different styles using generative AI, apparently available on Pixel 6 and later (but can only be offline on Pixel 8 Pro?);
  • Photomoji: use photos as emoji reactions on Google Messages after automatic background removal;
  • Quick Share, see the CES 2024 blog post;
  • Audio Switch now supporting the Pixel Watch.

And yes, they really added a new Mint color now for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro:

    I’m a little sad. I would have bought this colour way if it had been available at launch. They sent me a code to buy one but I already have a pixel 8.

      I’m still kinda salty about it too haha, mint is my favorite color so it was disappointing it wasn’t available at launch, Hazel was not green enought nor hazel

      Sorry to hear that you missed out on the new color, but hey you still got a great phone 😁 What color did you pick?

        I got black. Because I wanted the regular pixel 8. But I would have gone with blue had it been available.

    Seems like it is only available with 128 GB storage. All the other Pixel 8 models have at least 128-256 GB versions if not more.

      Very weird way of launching it indeed, maybe Google wants to push the 128GB version first as the limited storage would push users to subscribe to their cloud offering. That or they probably have a supply issue for the storage.
