Officials in Ukraine say Russia has provided no credible evidence to back its claims that their own forces shot down a military transport plane carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war who were to be swapped for Russian POWs.

“We currently don’t have evidence that there could have been that many people onboard the aircraft. Russian propaganda’s claim that the IL-76 aircraft was transporting 65 Ukrainian POWs (heading) for a prisoner swap continues to raise a lot of questions,” Budanov said.

To me, the likelihood that Russia did everything right and Ukraine just fucked up, suddenly, and blew up a plane they knew carried POWs is very low.

More likely, one or a combination of: Russia made it up, or Russia lied about who was on the plane so that it would get shot.

Show the fucking receipts or shut up.

Warthog Defense on YT has evidence showing that plane was flying away from Ukraine when it got shot down. They also have evidence that there are no bodies at the crash site unlike with flight 17 that Russia shot down in Ukraine.

They also show the plane came from Iran carrying weapons and the plane type was never used for previous prisoner swaps.

Also, from the list of dead people, almost half were already swapped.

Russia is full of shit. Can’t believe a word they’re saying.

Thanks for all these. Could you add in a comment some links for the above? I would really like to take a deeper dive into this analysis.

Also, I had the impression this type of airplane is commonly used in Russia. According to what you say, it doesn’t seem their use is as widespread as I initially though. If you have this link as well I would totally appreciate taking a look at it.
