    OnlyOffice is a really good Microsoft Office alternative that’s open source. Has 95% of the features you would ever need on Word.

    Depends what you really want; if you want to write professional-looking documents, I’d go with LaTeX. It’s not the easiest program/language to pick up though.

    If you’re looking for a more classical WYSIWYG editor, you can try the LibreOffice suite.
