Kind of a self-flex… I used to care about this distro way back when I was in my “I want everything to use as little to no memory!” phase.
…until I realized that 200 MiB “more” memory does little to no difference on (pretty much everything).
…unless you are using a really baked 'tater as a pc.
Way back, I used to have the original, 50 MB DSL as a default PXE boot option in my lab. Was awesome for quick troubleshooting or to test hardware without having to mess with USB keys.
netboot.xyz is great for this nowadays.
I forgot this thing existed!
At 700MB, it can no longer be called “damn small”, especially considering there are much smaller distributions out there, such as TinyCore @ 23MB and SliTaz @ 43MB (yes, SliTaz is still around).
Oh man SSL, I ran that on some janky old laptops, I think it was a pentium III.
