So YouTube wants the Grayjay app to be removed within 7 days because they claim it violates the YouTube API ToS… pretty silly use of their own lawyers time IMO, considering Grayjay doesn’t use the YouTube API at all, and its source code is available for them to validate before sending out false claims like this.

Wonder how YouTube will respond to Louis’s refusal

      You are right!

Louis also mentioned that they are not a bunch of college students in a dorm, YT will not scare them, he has great backing so as to go to a legal war!

I am interested in following what happens as well!

Yeah, this will be fun to watch as FUTO and YouTube might actually go at it in a legal case.

And FUTO has Louis on their side which won’t be good for YouTube lol

Also, You can mention Grayjay by name here directly unlike YouTube where even as a moderator I can’t mention it.

In general, Just be regularly a positive contributor in comments and if there are Livestreams also consistently be a positive regular there as well. Then when the creator needs new mods they might pick you since your a regular that is trusted.

This also can be used actually for almost any community online as well.

Yep! On YouTube beyond their trust and safety staff there’s also 2 categories of volunteer mods. One is more of a normal moderator role for the channel called “standard moderator” and the other one that I have “managing moderator” can moderate and set people as moderators or even an approved user.

Here’s an article from YouTube on our moderation controls. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer

The only thing is YouTubes tooling for community management has a lot of issues to put it nicely.
