A federal judge denied Donald Trump’s motions for a mistrial in the defamation case brought by columnist E. Jean Carroll saying the former president’s arguments had no “merit” and are “entirely pointless.”

Judge Lewis Kaplan denied Trump’s motions from the bench during the civil trial and said a written order would follow. In the written order on Wednesday, the judge said granting a request for a mistrial “would have been entirely pointless” because it would only mean that the case would start over.

It’s like they don’t actually know how any of this works…

Why they kept arguing for innocence in cases where liability was already assigned.

Trump knows one thing. The only way he gets out of this is to win re-election in November. Until the election, everything else is a sideshow. His supporters don’t care how many times he’s convicted, they’ll just tell themselves it’s the ‘Deep State’ trying to derail their guy.

He also denied Trump’s request for sanctions and criticized Trump’s attorneys for first making the motion for a mistrial in front of the jury during Carroll’s cross-examination when they had known about the deletion of messages for over a year

To give context. Carroll’s attorney had indicated long before this started that the initial death threats were deleted and gave Trump’s team the fair chance to raise objections then. Trump’s team was silent during the entire period. Fast forward to today like a few clicks past a year in length of time.

Trump’s team: We’d like to file a mistrial!

For those wondering, no, you don’t get to sit on something for over a year and then finally bring it up that you have an issue with it.

He already lost. Is he clinically insane?

    But he isn’t a crook…
