Still is. Many kids help their parents in the garage and go out hunting with them. I still have the 20ga shotgun my dad bought me when I was a kid. We would often go duck and dove hunting together.
I still have the 410 snake charmer my grandpa let me use when I was a kid. I also still have an “Old Timer” knife that was probably 20 by the time I was born that he gave me when I was a kid.
Granted this was in the 80s, I didn’t know what people do with their kids these days.
