As long as it’s something only ever done with clear need and massive oversight it isn’t a bad thing. Those people are reacting to it as though it’s commonplace or anyone wants it to be. 🙄

It is definitely radical and seems to be about maintaining quality of life. Not my kid and not my life, so how I feel about it isn’t relevant.

What really is bothersome about the whole thing is that they did a hysterectomy and breast removal to primarily avoid discomfort and reduce care concerns, but they also mentioned it would avoid pregnancy and reduce the likelihood of sexual assault once the parents handed her over to a caregiver. That is disturbing that sexual assault had to be considered because it is a real concern in the fucked up reality we live in.

The route they took is awful but the best one given they decided she should be born and have whatever life she has.

It is increasing. Particularly the stunting of growth is pretty gross, and it’s not just developmental disabilities, it happens to many children who need physical care.

Keeping your child a child forever is pretty controversial.

This will be controversial, but if the brain practically doesn’t work, the child should be killed or left to die for the family’s well being instead of their working parts of the brain being in pain from all the removed organs.
