“God & Country,” a new movie from Santa Cruz filmmaker Dan Partland, is an examination of the rise of Christian nationalism, a poorly understood, largely American phenomenon that has threatened to consume evangelical Christianity, the Republican Party, and even democracy itself in the United States.
I know its just a stupid red hat in the photo, but how the fuck can someone believe in God and Guns? I just don’t get it. It’s one or the other. If you love your god or gods how can you love guns? Guns are not symbols of peace, your god is supposed to be exactly that, peace. These people need help!
Unfortunately the god they believe in is anything but peaceful.
Their god is the god of the old testament
The Bible is full of weapons and murder and genocide, all in their god’s name, mostly at his direction.
I’ve no doubt that had guns existed, they would’ve been prevalent throughout the book.
