    The usual caveat here is that it takes time to go from the laboratory testing like this to viable treatments that are widely available. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in many countries. A treatment that could reverse it by growing brand new heart muscle could save millions of lives and extend many people’s lifespan.

    As someone with inherited heart problems who has been on anti-hypertensive medications since teen years, I’m stoked for this even if it takes a while to get there.

    I’ve spent my entire life assuming my bad genes (I got the worst from both sides of my family, yay!) would spell an early death (many in my family including my mother died before age 60). I’m not sure how I feel finding out that may not be the case for myself, but I’m stoked it might be an option all the same.
