According to the Air Force, the two planes were a Su-34 and a Su-35S.
Has something changed that would explain Ukraine’s recent successes at shooting down Russian airplanes?
Interestingly they are shot outside of Patriot range if I’m not mistaken. Obviously they introduced something we’ll learn after Russians figure it out.
Edit: typoUkraine has other AA including the Iris -T SLM (truck mounted infrared homing missiles) and NASAMS which fires infrared and radar-guided missiles.
Yep, they have, but none has a great range, like S-400 for example (at least in paper). Who knows, perhaps Russians are flying too close but still, it’s like 4 days in a row.
Edit: the->4Ah my mistake I misunderstood your comment. Yes, maybe they’re pushing the limits and getting hit. Could be the Kremlin wants progress in their barbaric war to distract from Navalny’s death.
Anyway, no complaints here. I hope they keep dropping.
Oh, absolutely. And they actually do, at least one per day.
They may have been saving anti aircraft for sure shots. Also ramping up ahead of f16 arrivial., both have been suggested, but remember those who know are not talkingi
the Ukrainians have been getting close to getting F-16s and pilots together on their front line… i think some were actually getting into their combat seats for final training in December in Denmark… or maybe the gains on the front line have encouraged the Russians to do more dangerous stuff…
