I’d like to see this community grow a tad faster but I don’t know if the general public would take to fedivese shenanigans.

If anybody has suggestions how we try to pull more people in, I’d be all for it. Just not sure how to word it on there and make it easy enough to understand but also not come off entitled or snobby.

EDIT: Well I attempted and failed. The post was down voted to hell. Maybe its too soon to try.

Maybe casual? For those who want to get off Reddit, try out Lemmy. I tried it out because the third party app I was using, RIF, was forced to shut down. I wanted an alternative.

Most importantly, those who use this site need to create content for it to be active.

when you say casual, just making a simple post without all the jargon?

There is a better argument to get folks to switch from twitter/faceboook to mastodon or instagram to pixelfed because the software is more flushed out. Kbin and Lemmy are still a little alpha. I’m a little afraid that if you get a normie to give the community a try, they will get frustrated.

I know when subs were just reopening from the blackout, some of the ones that promoted Lemmy alternatives had some issues with the Reddit admins. Not sure if that’s still the case or not

i guess a possibility would be to straight up ask the mods on /r/milwaukee what they think.

Maybe wait for a few of the kbin apps to be released. Also, mention the no advertising, no tracking, and all the other features you tend to get on the fediverse.
