Why would I waste time on a worse copy, though? I can still watch the original when I like.

Ah yes, the argument of “why should I do/watch/play new things when I can do the same things 100 times?”

        Sounds like a good point…

The whole point is that this is not new. Or I might have given it a try. They nailed it the first time. Why not try something else new?

The HP movies succeeded to bring a new perspective to the books and stood on their own feet.

Up to now, the new series seems to hit the unganny valley were they keep so much stuff that it seems stale and what they add seems unnecessary (e.g. showing the air nomad genocide).

I think episode 4 (and to a lesser extent, 3) has a good twist on the original series’ stories. But I understand what you mean.

I concur, the original always seemed great, we are connected with that. But this one is good imo to watch how it would on real life. Apart from the original, they showed what they can compile 20 episodes in to 8, and it still doesn’t seems rushed for me. It will be more likeable not only for the fans but also the general audience.

The live action version is better by far. The real actors convey much more nuance and depth than the cartoon characters.

And anyone who can watch Ep 8 and still say “oooh, that’s no good,” probably needs their head examined. Katara’s epic fight with Zuko, the despair on her face as she tries hopelessly to bring Aang back; the depth of love Sokka shows when Momo comes back, and when he loses Yue; Aang’s bottomless pain when he believes he let the world down.

And the kiddies are gonna complain that Zuko’s hair is parted on the wrong side or some dumber shit. Jesus.
