Damn squirrels. 🐿️

Look how they massacred my boy. I didn’t mind them occasionally helping themselves, but now they’ve ruined it for everyone for the foreseeable future. At least the camera module and solar panel are okay, so maybe I can design and build something more resilient to these infernal rodents. Shame on #BirdBuddy that their feeder can’t withstand a seven foot drop onto grass.

    A long time ago I saw a video someone compiled of their war with the squirrels and protecting a bird feeder. Their final solution that seemed to work was putting it on a tall pole in the middle of the yard away from all possible jumping points like branches etc. Then they greased the hell out of the pole it was on. I cant really explain why but watching those little assholes try relentlessly and failing to climb a greased pole was hilarious. YMMV but it might be worth a shot.

      I’ve got a couple ideas for countermeasures, but they’re going to test my technical skills and determination. I used to think it wasn’t worth it, but now I’m pissed.
