Templating is a bit confusing. All spells or just ones cast this turn? Also, which turn is this turn?

I was confused at first but I don’t think there’s a way to have spells that aren’t cast “this turn”

It’s for stuff like oblivion ring.

You can’t cast o-ring and get this emeracul. But you CAN flicker o-ring and get it.

Could be read two ways: “protection from spells, and from permanents cast this turn”, or “protection from spells cast this turn, and permanents cast this turn”.

In both cases, “this turn” is ambiguous though. It’s always “this turn”. I presume they mean the turn it came into play, but why not say that?

I don’t think they mean that. I think it’s protection from spells, and then an anti-haste kind of ability. Protection from your opponent’s ETB triggers, damage from attackers with haste, Flashing in a creature on your turn, like something with Evoke, etc. If your opponent wants to remove this, they need to cast something and let it sit out, giving you a lot more time to respond.

Reminds me of trap cards in yugioh. This ability makes your opponent have to play like that to deal with this card.

Quick edit: I feel if they meant it to only be the turn this Emrakul was cast, they’d have said something like “When Emrakul ETB, it gains protection from permanents for the rest of the turn”. Like make the Protection ability itself expire, instead of leaving it with a Protection keyword that stops working.
