in the desktop settings there is no such option

Only by modifying the Folder View widget source code. If I remember correctly someone did that change and put it on store.kde.org
I don’t think so, it’s there to make it easy to read the text no matter what background you’re using. Why do you want to remove it in the first place?

Is that shadow text or just the icon for .txt?
