At this point, I’m intensely curious how strong support for this atrocity is among regular Israelis. The horror of Hamas’ terrorist attack was astonishing, but at this point Netanyahu’s response makes it pale in comparison.

I know Biden said there was hope for a truce coming Monday, and I really, really want to believe it’s true, but right now Netanyahu’s government seems hell-bent on outright genocide.

That’s like 10 9/11s, and almost none of them worked in finance

Killing a civilian that doesn’t work in finance??? What’s even the point then!?

This is the lead-addled GOP’s end goal for the USA. Indiscriminate killing of the “other”.

I cant believe how many times I’ve heard Israel is minimizing civilian casualties

How many Hamas fighters have been killed? I only ever hear about civilians dying.

Nope. Being antisemitic is not necessary.

      Just be anti-genocide.

I hate genocidal Israel. I am fine with Jewish people.

Hamas clearly needs to unconditionally surrender, they need to do the right thing for their people.

There is no “their people” there hasn’t been any kind of election since 2006 where Hamas won minority control of Gaza. A year later they cemented control by arresting, killing or expelling opposition politicians. Hamas has always been a militant group not a political party.

The leadership of Hamas doesn’t live in Gaza and doesn’t care about civilians. As for the Israeli government, Netanyahu seems to prefer hardliners in control as this lets him have an excuse to take a much more hard line approach to use of force in Gaza.

There is no one looking out for or caring about the Palestinian people.

Why? Israel doesn’t want war, they just want to live in peace. If Hamas is willing to surrender, I am certain Israel would accept it.

Actually they want the Palestinians gone and land control, so if Hamas surrenders, it wouldn’t bring back Gaza or even change the situation much at this point.

They spent this entire time taking land in the west bank despite it having nothing to do with Gaza nor even geographically connected. So that right there sums up their goals.

Israel is the dominating military force, if they wanted to, they could have easily dismantled Hamas years ago, especially considering they are the ones who supported its creation.
