Honestly I hope this kicks off a self hosting revolution and we end up where we were before social media. Small individually focused websites built by people who want to share their world and passions but also are willing to put in the hard work to put it out there themself rather than just very quickly making a account that makes their voice dependent on a large advertising company

It was murdered by weak willed individuals who valued convenience over freedom. Now we are simply tap dancing on its corpse.
