Just so everyone is clear, the Israeli governments reaction to this massacre is that they now need tostop aid from coming into Gaza at all because this incident proves starving people receiving aide is a danger to the Israeli military.

These are the people Biden is sending millions of dollars in weapons to. These are the people Biden directs the US ambassador to veto a widely supported cease fire resolution to give international cover to. Fuck, these are the people Biden chooses to lock arms with even as he loses 100k votes in Michigan in protest.

Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir says the provision of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza endangers Israeli soldiers and must stop after more than 100 Palestinians were reported killed while trying to get aid in Gaza City.

“Today it was proven that the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza is not only madness while our hostages are held in the Strip … but also endangers IDF soldiers,” Ben-Gvir said, calling the deliveries “oxygen to Hamas”.

The incident is “another clear reason why we must stop transferring this aid”, he wrote on X.

Ben-Gvir also said Israel must “provide complete support to our heroic fighters operating in Gaza, who acted excellently against a Gazan mob that tried to harm them”.

Criticize Biden all you like, but if you advocate not voting for him in the Presidential election then you are a Trump supporter.

Unless something unexpected happens in the Democratic primaries those are going to be the only two choices the Americans have. And Trump is not going to be better for the Palestinians.

The IDF position is that people died because of a stampede.

    Okay, fine.

    What caused the stampede?

According to the IDF: the crowd started looting trucks that had arrived in the area with aid.

I love how the IDF conveniently ignores that people are starving because Israel is preventing aid trucks from getting in. Starving people will 1000% swarm a truck with food when it arrives. We have seen it happen in practically every recent famine. Hell, we even saw Jews (the ones who could still move) swarm allied troops when they liberated Nazi concentration camps.

Dehumanizing the Palestinians even more isn’t going to work.

You missed a step. The stampede was caused by the IDF shooting the Palestinians (because of alleged looting).

Oh yeah, not sure why you’re being downvoted, but the IDF said that too: they fired to disperse the crowds and prevent looting.

Twitter is full of pictures of piles of Palestinians with bullet wounds. Didn’t know they trampled themselves into a bullet.

According to the UN, 2.2 million people are in Crisis food insecurity (level 3 of 5), and more than half a million people are in what they call Catastrophe (level 5 of 5, the worst level of food insecurity a population can be in and still be alive). Amnesty International released a statement talking about how Israel is not only failing to comply with the ICJ ruling that steps must be made to protect civilians, they are actively obstructing aid. Right at the start of the war the military and political leaders of Israel made it explicitly clear they were going to starve the Gazans, and yet people still want to believe this wasn’t the plan the whole time.

Now the spin from Israel that is being put forth in the media is that the Palestinians are to blame for being desperate. When your entire population is halfway down the ladder to starvation with over 500k folks literally on the verge of dying from hunger, what do you expect? The desperation isn’t a Palestinian failing, it’s a human reaction that any population would have to months of illegal collective punishment via starvation.

I could not be more ashamed of supposedly moral Western nations like the USA, Germany, Britain and my own country of Canada who are not just being silent while the most intense humanitarian crisis of my life takes place, but are actively funding and giving diplomatic cover to it.

The IDF unironically said they had to open fire at them because they felt threatened by the crowd of starving civilians desperately trying to get the food they were deprived of for weeks.

Israel is a Nazi state that can only do what it does because Joe Biden enables them to do it.

I can only assume the Palestinians were so hungry that when they looked over at the Israeli soilders they pictured them as giant steaks, which the IDF realized because they started drooling, so they opened fire.

But seriously, your right. The Biden administration, for it’s part, called on Isreal to investigate itself (lol) and

Asked whether Biden would consider withholding aid to Israel, Dalton dismissed the idea. “They are a close ally that will remain a close ally. They are in the throes of an existential battle – an existential threat to their existence from Hamas – and we’re going to continue to support them in that process,” she said.

And with that, I think I’m out guys.

Biden is really testing how far the “but Trump is worse” argument is going to go. I’m normally pretty pragmatic, but with Isreal setting new records of inhumanity everyday, it’s hard to feel excited or even compelled to vote when my choices are old guy who is arming a rogue genocidal state and literally hugs it’s leader and old guy who wants to end American democracy. Stretching the “lessor of two evils” voting strategy to it’s absolute absurd limit here guys.

I’m gonna vote for him, but only the fact that his opponent is merely 1 degree removed from being the literal devil is ensuring that.

Americans are faced with arguably the worst choice in their nation’s history this election. Biden is old and willing to make his nation complicit in war crimes. Trump is deranged, xenophobic, and a convicted criminal. It’s insane that those are the two people who have been deemed the best choices for office by American electoral processes. Given how unpopular they are, it’s really hard to call them American “democratic” processes.

Biden can stop this any day. The faster he sees his polling numbers drop the faster Biden will be forced to stop this.

Stop telling people to keep voting for the lesser evil until Biden stops this Genocide. Then the issue is gone and Biden can actually start campaigning again.

If Biden keeps this Genocide up thinking people will just lesser-evil him he will lose in november 100%.

Thing is, I don’t think he’s going to be forced to do anything. The Democratic party knows their voters don’t have another option in this election but to not vote, and that would just make it easier for Trump to win.

But I am going to lesser-evil him. So that’s the position I espouse. You are welcome to espouse an opposing view, as you are doing here, but I’m not sure why you think I would.

You’re free to do what you want it’s your vote. But if I can ask one thing at least vote uncommitted in the primaries. Make Biden feel like he actually has to work for your vote.

That I will do, because it does not have a chance of resulting in a Trump (or R) presidency. It’s a good idea, and I’m glad you put it to me like that.
