Assuming it’s an unwanted hair, it’s like pulling a weed out by the root. You know that sucker won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Also guessing there’s the element of: pain followed by aftermath/relief. The sort of stuff BDSM folks enjoy with the dripping wax and whatnot. Or so I’ve been told.

It’s grooming behavior that’s worsened by anxiety, so “succeeding” feels good for two reasons

That’s not the follicle, that’s the bulb at the base of the hair. The follicle is under the skin and the hair will grow back. If you want the hair permanently gone, you need laser treatment, electrolysis, or whatever.

Does it damage the follicle more tho when you yank out all that mass as opposed to just the hair itself?

Its not even necessarily that I want it gone forever depending on where it is. Its like pulling a succulent vegatable out of the ground haha. In my mind, it makes the sploosh sound ray made in Scary Movie 2 lol

I think it does damage the follicle but I’m not sure.

Makes me wonder how those hair transplant drs actually yank out the whole hair follicle, like what sorcery is that?

It does damage the follicle but the damage is small enough that the hair will still be able to grow back, but if you keep doing it over and over that damage will eventually add up and it will damage it enough that the hair won’t grow back, it takes a long time to do that though, especially because most undesirable hair is thicker and therefore more resilient to that kind of damage.

Because the more you get out, the longer it will take to grow back. Extra points if it bleeds, because it might not grow back.

Is that actually a fact tho, its def my intuition but blood circulation actually helps it repair, no? Like isnt blood nourishing to the follicle?

IANAMD but might indicate capillary damage and thus some chance to displace follicle with scar tissue.

Its honestly amazing and infuriating how resillient undesirable hair is to intentional destruction. What other aspect of your body is so “fuck you, imma come back yesterday” lol
