We’ll do anything except address the gun problem, no matter how many people die as a result.
There is no gun problem
Germany has 1.04 gub deaths per capita. The U.S. has 12.2 gun deaths per capita. For Germany, 0.06 of those deaths are homicides, compared to the 4.46 homicides for the United States.
We have 74x a higher gun homicide rate and a 12x higher gun suicide rate. So yeah, we absolutely have a gun problem.

As you’ve been told numerous times, gun homicide is an irrelevant statistic
To you it is. But for those of us who care about deaths, for those that value human life it is a relevant statistic.
Your values are your own. You cannot dictate to me what my values are.
You cannot dictate to me what my values are.
Of course. All I can do is direct you to the facts. Not force you to accept reality
Only one person in this exchange has presented facts, and it isn’t you.
R1. Be civil. Don’t attack people. Attack ideas.
As the other user pointed out, you never presented any facts.
This is a constant reminder to the kids in the classroom that they might die in a place that they are required by law to be. What will be the argument when a student uses a teacher’s gun in a shooting? We’ll give the students guns?
Kind of crazy it’s come to this. I think it’s a lot to ask of teachers, the job is already pretty demanding and doesn’t pay that well. But maybe just knowing some teachers are armed will dissuade potential shooters.
Teachers: help, we’re underfunded and many kids don’t see a future in this capitalist hell scape they’re fully aware they live in!
Utah: here, take some guns and shoot em if they act up
Teachers: do I get training or more pay?
Utah: Take it out of your school supply budget
I’m not a fan of arming teachers but this is a topic worth discussing.
