Jerboa is loading pictures extremely slowly, up to 10 seconds per picture. Testing with website and other apps like connect I’m getting much more reasonable load times. Anyone else having this issue?

Depends on where the image is hosted.
If it’s hosted on the instance it can be pretty slow to load depending on instance, if it’s hosted on a different site (like imgur) and the link is shared here the image loads almost instantly.
Or at least that’s been my experience so far
I’m hoping I can find an alt to imgur for uploading and sharing images though as direct links to the pictures can be less than ideal together from imgur

For SMALL CARD & LIST layout the image hosters are visible. I am not seeing them in the full CARD layout.

Yes. But I think it’s to do with what instance the pictures are hosted on. Lemmy.world & .ml load very slowly for me, but my local instance loads basically straight away. This holds for me on the other Android apps too (connect, liftoff, thunder…)
So, instances host media too? I thought they only host the links and text posts.
Wait I thought that was just my internet being slow or smth. I haven’t got anything like 10 seconds, but it has been slow.
Been browsing with Jerboa for 2 hours now, no problem here.
Same for me. Liftoff and Thunder seems to open images instantly. While Jerboa takes a second to load them.
