- How does this work?
- Where does the money come from?
- Will recipients be required to repay the aid they receive?
My understanding of mutual aid is the money comes from whoever wants to give it and the recipient never has to repay. It’s a way for people with more than they need to give to the less fortunate, especially in marginalized communities. I’ve given to a few people on Mastodon through a mutual aid account, and that’s how it works there. Please someone correct me if I’m wrong.
