Yup, people slept on the Windows 95 port of S3&K. Beta Sonic 3 music and a screen saver of peak Classic Sonic attitude. It was weird.
By the way, the original Reddit post has is the 3rd lowest-rated post on the entire subreddit, with a final score of 0, only out-downvoted by juggling and Home Depot. The only more controversial post was near-NSFW balloon riding. I’m glad the Fediverse crowd is giving the Sonic Screensaver some love.

It’s insane how we all thought that the Sonic & Knuckles Collection music was made specifically for the Windows port when it turns out it was actually the original music. Everyone’s mind was blown during the Hidden Palace’s reveal livestream.

Artist: SegaIt’s Hedgehog Day! The Windows Sonic & Knuckles Collection CD-ROM came with a screensaver, a slideshow containing official art from the Japanese Sega World calendars and other sources. We don’t know how Sonic, Tails, and the Sega Saturn are floating, but they’re up there long enough to play a game on that monitor and make Knuckles go “Bung!”
