Kendra Cotton, executive director of the New Georgia Project, which seeks to register voters among marginalized groups, is hearing particularly from Black people about the cost of groceries and everyday expenses. Often, they blame the president, regardless of how much control he has, she said.

That makes sense. The vast majority of American voters basically blame the incumbent president for their problems.

The irony is even though inflation hurts everyone, it hurts the poor most of all. Even if you are getting some federal or state monetary assistance, that money is now worth less. If you cared about the poor you would condemn the democrat policies that caused it and seek to reverse it. If you are not capable of thinking for yourself then you believe the lies of the media and DNC. You can believe them telling you there is no inflation or that it started exactly with the lunatic spending of the biden regime. If you are incapable of understanding cause and effect then you have no right to complain about inflation. You voted for it. Now enjoy it. And hopefully it warms your heart that billions are being wasted in Ukraine.

“If you cared about the poor, you would vote to give the fuck the poor party a win.”

My guy, look at the voting pattern of Democrats vs Republicans and tell me how Republicans help the poor.

Who voted to take away free school lunches for children?

      Republicans.

Who gutted the budget for things like job training, housing assistance, and WIC?

      Republicans.

Who consistently votes for tax cuts on the richest 1% while not cutting taxes for the poorest?

      Republicans.

Who cut the budget for tons of income-scurity programs for the poorest people?

      Republicans.

In the meantime, what have Republicans been up to? Attempting an impeachment with no evidence, stripping abortion rights (oh wait that also fucks over the poor even more), screaming about sending money to places like Ukraine due to some mythical border crisis that can’t even make use of most of the things being sent to Ukraine (y’know, because it’s not like we are sending direct cash; it’s more of a way to assign value to the outdated stuff we send), and banned porn in a bunch of states.

Please tell me how these actions help the poor, or better yet, tell me some legislation the Republicans have passed that actively helps the poor to offset the literal billions of dollars in funding they’ve taken from vital services for the poor.

Oh, and just to be clear, this recent spike in inflation is largely due to corporate greed, not because the Democrats are increasing the debt. That corporate greed is allowed to happen because Republicans deregulate anything that holds companies accountable.

You wanna actually try to fix the debt? Go after the giant companies or the wealthiest 1%. Eliminate the loopholes the rich use to avoid paying taxes and implement things like a VAT, so companies must pay their fair share to operate in the US. All cutting spending on the poorest people does is increase the burden on the state later by forcing them into crime and making them less economically productive due to poorer education and developmental stunting from poor nutrition. Plus, the amount of money being spent on these social programs is nothing compared to the mountains of cash going into the military and state expenditures on healthcare (yes, we spend more on Healthcare due to the massive inefficiencies of privatizing it, increasing costs for everything).
