He had enough scruples to stop it. Despite being a Republican, I do at least somewhat respect this man for saying no on that day. If he hadn’t, I fully believe a civil war would already be upon us. I think even he knows the danger this country is in if Trump gets elected again.
The benefit – I think – is that they’re going to run the Republican party so far into the dirt, that they’re going to lose in places they’ve held solid for a long while. Gerrymandering can be undone, and can help loosen the grip that they hold on this country.
Even if he did what Trump wanted then it would have changed nothing legally. Secret service not bringing Trump over is really what killed their momentum.
