    Would you collet a top holder?

    Those are really nice. How do they spin?

    I got a knock-off of a fancy top from Amazon and it’s kinda tricky to get it going good without sending it flying off my desk. I would not quite call it a game of skill… but it’s not the meditative fidget I was hoping for.

      Im bad at english machining words so i dont know exaclty what the top question means oof.

      the aluminum one spins nicely, the brass one is too heavy to get it going.

      I made the long side first cutting the top from a rod, then the second side i used that jig (the angle of the top side matches the top) and a collet stop to make the bottom side.

        Sorry, it’s a really bad play on words based on the pronunciation of collet being similar to the phrase ‘call it’.

        Very nice work. It’s a shame the brass top didn’t work out… perhaps a pull-cord?
