I hate when I agree with the premise (the NYT does suck) but know they’re going to be wrong about everything else.

If you are old enough to remember the National Enquirer the joke newspaper that was at every supermarket check out line then you know that is the NYT of today. The National Enquirer portrayed itself as a real newspaper but was filled with nonsense and bullshit. They did have an audience to sell to because like now you can never OVER estimate the ignorance of the general public. So there were plenty of morons back then that read the National Enquirer as if it was a news source.
