If the person who asked that question about horror movies watches them, they’ve revealed something about themselves similar to those who don’t understand why people who don’t believe in religion don’t go out murdering and raping whoever they want.
Not all hobbies are understood by some people. And some people are unable to imagine. There is probably a strong correlation between this.
Just call them simple and move on.
Did you even read the wiki article you linked? I have aphantasia and I promise you that fiction isn’t a foreign concept and I have a very active imagination.
