Movie Paul behaved exactly like you describe book Paul.
He constantly blames his mother and is afraid of going down because millions (or billions?) will die if he does.
Idk, I just watched both and the most he actually says to her is “they hear what they’ve been told to hear” and “you Bene Gesserait made me a freak!”
Compared to the book where he hides the information of the Jihad from her up until the point where he gives up and assumes the full religious role of Maud’Dib.
It really wasn’t too different. The movie was as close to the book as it could be. That little reference at the end with The Baron and Paul was a fucken amazing nod to the book.
