I wonder why First Person Shooter of all things was the song that finally elicited a full diss verse from K Dot.

Or what happened for it to come on a (dope) Metro verse.

I’m not complaining at all. Hoping for a back and forth between him and Cole this summer

The verse itself is full of references though. I think that Click/B-Legit/E-40 line is my favorite though

“Like That” sees Future & Metro Boomin enlist rap legend Kendrick Lamar for a hard-hitting track, where the two get a few things off their chest. Lamar takes it a step further, pronouncing himself alone as the best in the game.

The track samples Eazy-E’s 1988 hit single “Eazy-Duz-It” and the 1986 track “Everlasting Bass” by Rodney O & Joe Cooley. It also takes inspiration from E-40’s 1999 single “Look at Me,” which also sampled “Everlasting Bass.”

Future & Metro Boomin first performed “Like That” at Rolling Loud California during the duo’s set with Travis Scott on March 17, 2024, just days before the song’s release with WE DON’T TRUST YOU on March 22. The live rendition featured a different cut of Future’s verse not present on the album version.
