Ever since the gemstone shortage, I’ve been self-aware about the maintenance of my puppies. Currently thinking about one of the following options, nothing set in stone yet:

  • refabrication
  • reprogramming
  • retiring

Per title, what’s your favorite re?

have you tried those synthesized ones? ive been seeing a lot of folks hyping them up but that video from sweden was pretty messed up so im still pretty hesitant about them

No idea about your trade routes but the only ones we have here are synthetic, been so for decades. If a “copy” has the exact qualities and properties of a natural, then you just call it by it’s name.

Ngl that Sweden video still haunts me. You start seeing droids in a different light after that.

I have been getting good results with a combination of refabricatuon and reprogramming. I find that I can scrape off around 10% of the crystal and reuse it after some reprogramming to work with the smaller size. There is a definite hit to the performance, but at least I don’t have to retire them yet. I’m down to 13mm diameter, and fast approaching the worst performance I can get. I’ll try to extend it for a week or two, but I don’t think my lawndroid will last three more mows. Hope they resolve the gem shortage soon. Fuck Sbeve and fuck his predatory business practices.

Retiring. Replacing the tires is much easier than bothering to reprogram or refabricate. Especially if the latter involve re-hexing(!).

Do you have good equipment to deal with the excess helium when retiring? Or will you just go fully expunged?

Oh haha, by retiring I meant cutting my losses. Thanks for bringing up re-hexing, totally forgot about that one.

Costco does re-hexing for $130 if you don’t want to spend time doing that

Sounds like a great deal, never heard of Costco though. Which parsec chart should I be looking at?

Dude you’re missing out. They are a wholesale microchip parts store that also perform some services for cheap. Plug-in 8765979.4(35937).4343321 in your spatial discombobulator and take the first right when you enter. It’s a huge box looking building. Can’t miss. You do need a personalized secret handshake to get in though. Download a handshake crack from one of the piracy websites and you’re golden.

After the sandal scandal I’m never going back there! Live wires forever.
